Anthony Davenport is Professor of Cardiovascular Pharmacology, directs the Human Receptor Research Group, Department of Experimental Medicine and Immunotherapeutics, University of Cambridge. He was previously BHF Principal Scientist and BHF Lecturer. He is an executive member of the NC-IUPHAR Committee on Receptor Nomenclature and Drug Classification which is responsible for the guidetopharmacology.org and Concise Guide to Pharmacology. He is a member of the editorial board of British Journal of Pharmacology and was previously BPS Australasian Visitor 2014, Trustee (2004-7),Council (2004-7) and Executive Committee member (2004-10), member of Finance (2006-7) and Chair of External Affairs (2007-10) sub-committee. His research concentrates on understanding the role of G-protein coupled receptors, together with their transmitters in the human cardiovascular system and how these are altered with disease. A major focus for over two decades has been on endothelin peptides and more recently the apelin signalling pathway and biased agonism, PET/MR imaging in stroke, publishing ~200 papers and ~80 reviews (https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2096-3117).
